already ordered mine .. if anyone needs a furuno 6 pin nmea cable i have a new one because the fcv1150 is hard wired. you need the cable for the markfish to conect to furuno as all units other that the 1150 has a plug socket.. $25 there $79 to buy.

I'd be interested be looking at connecting 587 to lowrance HDS12 how much is it going to cost and do I need anything other than just the mark fish unit when connecting these 2 units

shortfuse ..You need a furuno 6 pin NMEA
You need a furuno 6 pin NMEA cable $79 ^^^^ the markfish does not come with the NMEA cable only the wiring to conect to the NMEA cable but if your conecting to a fcv1150 you dont need the cable as they are hard wired all othere units under the 1150 have a NMEA 6 pin socket and cant be hard wired . As above i have a furuno NMEA cable $25 i got this cable after asking what else was required to conect the markfish then found out the 1150 is the olny one that does not have a socket after i couldnt find a nmea socket everthing is hard wired on the 1150

for 620 627 628 585 587 588 no extra plugs are needed, all the connection wires are contained in the power cable.

have a look at your power cable and if it has a yellow and a green wire (sure that's the colours) unused they are the wires this connects to. If you still have the manuals for the unit the wiring diagram will show the nmea0183 wire colours.
Edit, just looked at wiring diagram for 295 and nmea wires are not part of power cable but from what I can see there are nmea connections behind the cover on the back of the unit. Double check me on this.

Thank you for your enquiry. You wont need and other components in your system to make the FCV295 talk to the Markfish. I can place in your order an FCV295 wiring diagram with notes where to wire in the Markfish. please make mention to this email when you order on line.

Installed
just finished installing my Mark fish box, tried it out on dry land and it works a treat, simple installation although all the associated wires are thin and fidely.
My spots are so secret even the fish don't know about them !
