land based angler issues
Hey guys, im new to the site and this is my first post so lets see how we go.
Im a land based angler who has never fished from a boat. i would like to get a boat in the near future but for now im stuck on land. Anyhow i just wanted to know if anyone had any tips for fishing when its quite windy (like it has beeen the last few days). I tried the river last night but after 2 and a half hours i only caught about 10 bream and although they fought well were all only between 20-25cm. So basically is there any spots or tactics anyone could recommend for fishing in the ocean when its windy. Even just for tailor or something. Oh and i live in the Kwinana area but dont mind travelling a bit :)
Cheers in advance peeps
I fish for fun, but would kill for a feed of flatties...

Your spoilt for choice down
Your spoilt for choice down in Kwinana, there's always somewhere you can fish with the wind at your back. The easiest thing to do is check the current weather conditions on BOM, Weatherzone, Willyweather or whatever to see which way the wind is blowing & then use google maps to pick a spot that will put that wind at your back. Places like Point Peron, Woodman Point or the numerous jetties down Kwinana/Rockingham way will always provide you with a place to fish with the wind at your back. Don't underestimate the rewards of fishing into a good headwind though. Many fish will come in close to breakwalls etc because of the increased wave action dislodging food items so doing it tough into a headwind can be quite rewarding sometimes. Just keep in mind that your not going to be the only one that is looking for a tailwind so it can get pretty crowded in some places.

Windy is the best time for Tailor
It provides plenty of chop cover. I don't mind fishing in wind so long as the beach is not covered in weed.
