Karratha Bait ball

Heard a rumour there is a bait ball of damiper / Karratha thats 6 - 8 times the size of a football oval.
Apparently sails and marlin everywhere??
A mate of mine up there called me last night, they caught i think 6 sails in a short period of time. Boats everywhere chasing them?
anyone seen it?

Apparently Gatesy got 25+ sails/bills in 45 minutes off one bait ball and had to leave them biting to get his tags in during the recent comp.

that was the plan last weekend but the weather didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped, Glenn has some nice little stickbaits that look very similar to the bait they're chasing... rig them up with some singles and I reckon it would be game time.
this wk end looks good but it's new moon so I'll be popping instead.

sounds like every fishermans dream, heard rumor of this today and thought gee i wish i was in karratha.
had a similar experience years ago in Bermagui fishing a bait ball and basically picking what fish you wanted to catch, dreamssssssssssss do come true sometimes

Nice early, but deteriorated by mid-morning. A few guys at the gas plant were talking about it.

definately be having a popping foray early in the day, but yeah sick idea man I'll throw the dive gear in as well as the waterproof camera... :)
just have to make sure one of the other 500 boats out there doesn't run me over... I've got no dive flag - damn..
