Thanks guys
I am hoping to get some good distance casting with a heavier weight this rod has a heavy action and can cast up to 6oz.

Wanted to go fishing
Wanted to go fishing to try out new rod but might get struck by lightening. Am heading out for drinks with my fishing club. Then visiting with friends. Will try and find some fine weather over the weekend for fishing apparantly Sunday looks good. Next week our club has a field day Cervantees to Greenheads i will be heading up that way camping on beach somewhere. Hope the weathers not like this.

Colin/ Mulloway
Next weekend i will be targeting Mulloway/Tailor/ Skippy and perhaps a shark. Our club has points system catogory one fish 10 points Cat 2/ 3 and half points cat3 /1 point
Then you get points for weight and 10 points per species
So we do target species. We do have reduced bag limits
for example herring you can only weigh in 20 and a total bag limit of 50 fish you can weigh in.

Sorry Carolyn
I didn't frame my question very well. I was wondering what reel you might be looking to get.
Hope you land a nice mulloway - that should pull in some good points.

So many choices Carolyn as you know
A nice strong Penn reel would be good if you are after a spinning reel. I am keen on a Trinidad DC for my overhead rod.
