Just wondering for all though sporting fisho's out there what your best caught fish on the smallest lineclass? Doesnt have to be the heaviest fish but one that gave you sum stick maybe? Ive been having some great fun of late on light gear and just curious on others captutres, cheers.

Best Catch
That would have to be a 70cm Taylor off the beach at Wedge Island with my bream gear loaded with 8lb platinum. Took me about 25min. 20 min out the back of the breakers to wear it out and another 5 through the breakers. Used to wear a pocket shirt and take out 5 or so mulies out in the water up to my ribs and bait cast them. I would then put the Taylor I caught down my pants until I run out of bait (sometimes very uncomfortable). You could turn up to the beach lined with fishos with their 10'+ rods and fish anywhere you liked with your bream gear (until you caught too many and then they would get huffy about you being in THEIR spot). Sounds like some boaties!!LOL We also had a rule for the shack not to take any under 35cm as there were plenty caught over the 40s!!! That was at the time of I believe 25cm limit or 28cm (not sure). If it didn't look like a feed it got released. Which is where we came up with 35cm!!!!

Good capture Staal
But I wouldn't fancy putting a tailor down my pants.
I can't tell you a line class, but I caught a mulloway on bream gear at Geraldton which weighed just under 15 kg cleaned.

Hi Ya,
Colin #1, I'm with you. No toofy critter (well, citters with sharp pointy toofies at least) are going near my tackle. I prefer my rod 'nonperferated' thank you.
Cheers.

34lb Sambo on 15lb Braid and 20lb leader
Made the Branzino sing for about 20 minutes. Other than that we always have a light tackle challenge on our Exmouth trip and my 18lb queenie on the same outfit won it last time. Nearly spooled me though as we were fishing the flats and its first run took a good 150m+ and I was stuck on the other side of a rock and could not chase it.
Not going to try it on anymore hard bodies though - way too expensive will stick to softies and small poppers and away from structure and leave the in close stuff to the baitcaster.

18kg Sambo, 12lb mono
My Mrs, (god bless her %^&##@$) showed me up by hooking and landing a sambo (conservative guess 18kg) on her $45 reel still with the stock std 12lb home-brand mono.
Released well after 20mins of waiting for the old Silstar
powerstrike to sh*t in a tin. pretty good effort for a part time fisho.
