These are some home made knife jigs/slices i have made, i think the first one is too light, so i am going to use some heavier cutlery. If you want any extra info just send me a PM.

they look ok, but think of replacing that beak with something like a Gamakatsu single lure hook, or a decoy equivalent.

Rave Slice?
How have the lures been going for you?
A couple of newbie questions:
1. Do you think there might be a benefit to adding either some luminous or UV reflective patterns/paint to these, or does the silver attract enough attention? I have recently bought some nail polish of both kinds (i.e. glow in the dark and UV reflective) and am starting to test on some smaller hardbodied lures, but it's way too early to tell if it's effective (read: I need to get out more).
BTW - There is a checkout chick in a City Beach store that has got the completeley wrong idea about me... I did consider expaining why a 30-something guy was buying glow in the dark nail polish, but I figured anything I said would just come out like a poor cover story.
2. Re the weight - have you considered running two in parrallel? I suppose in doing this you may introduce a rattle (if there was a bit of space between each blade) as well as increase the weight?

I suppose the chrome spoon
I suppose the chrome spoon handle itself is giving out enough flash, especially so if you are jigging it fast in fairly shallow water. Any reflective add on in my opinion will not make it any better. If the colour of the chrome is dull, then that might add value. I did advise Fisher Kid to try to use the lure in the above pic for high speed metal spinning given that it is only 40g in weight, guess the little reflective sticker will throw out more flash. I notice macs love flash. That's a sure way to attract their attention.
If you are doing demersal jigging, glow in the dark paint might be useful in the visual department. Deep down below could be dark although the sun above is shing bright at 40 degrees at mid-day. That little glow in the dark might just assist the fish in locating your jig, once the sense the vibration of the jig in the vicinity. I always use jigs with flective stickers and glow in the dark belly paint for my demersal jigging. IF they don't come with the glow paint, I just DIY, just like what you did.
I have spoons rigged that way before. It does increase the weight and like you said, provides rattle too. 2 birds in one stone. Theoretically they would work. Please try that and let us know how you go. I m interested in your results.
Just my 2cents.

i have considered having two
i have considered having two of my slices connectedat the eye by a single split ring with a long assist hook down the middle, so i t sits behind the end of the spoons. And i was going to buy a big roll of "flasher hollographic tape" to put on some of them. And i was going to paint some with a shiny paint.
