Have used Extreme 50lb braid for a while now I only fish at the Abrohlos islands and have caught from small coral trout to large whaler sharks and have had no problems with it
Mate careful that exact stuff is on ebay, read a guys review, it is only like 4 strand and can snap it with his hand
. Watch out for "Dyneema, that stuff is all over ebay and it isnt braid, its just braided stinrg, or cotton. One said he bought 20lb and he wrapped it around his hands and snapped it. Stick to Branded braid i would recomend.

Some months ago now I came across what seemed cheap braid on EBay.
I did a bit of cyber mooching, and found a plethora of posts on other forums bagging this cheap braid, with comments like " i wouldn't put that cheap shite on my brand new (insert here some ridiculously priced reel) - you'll be sorry when it fails" being the norm.
At the price, I thought bugger it - so ordered a 500meter spool of 50lb Spectra Extreme Braid ($24.45 delivered) to load up one of my offshore bottom bouncing lever drags.
Having used the reel a number of times, and have it not fail on some large jewies. monster sharks, and nearly losing a finger when trying to free a well snagged reef (in the end the leader broke at the hook knot - not the braid!!), I decided to give the 20lb gear a go and respool one of my old Millionaires.
I paid $14.95 (delivered) for 300meters of 20lb - and just to give a few of my fishing buddies a wind-up, went for the multi-colored gear (the stuff that's a different color every meter or so). First time I used this lighter braid, I noticed I had colored dye stains on my fingers - yep the cheap dye was running & I thought oh fcku, this lighter stuff is shite. NOT SO - went on to land two 20lb plus barra (one that had to be skull dragged out of a mangrove sapling that it had sought refuge in). Also nearly impaled a Nillsie Spearhead into my head after I had caste it into a tree - nearly broke the rod tip pulling it out, but the braid didn't fail under much greater duress than the stated 20lb I'd say. At the end of the first day with the lighter multi colored gear, the dye had all run to leave a sexy pinky/purple colour.
This has not effected the integrity of the braid however, and the Millionaire now has 3 trips under it's belt without it looking like failing.
Summary:-
For the price, I can strongly recommend this $hitty cheap Chinese braid - appears to perform no less than the exorbitantly priced stuff on the local shelves to me

I'm using some of the cheap ebay braid on my Dogfight 7000H for shark fishing, as Fisher Kid said... it seems to be holding up ok. I have a few spools sitting around for when this first lot shits out. At the price you can buy the cheap braid for, I could buy many spools of it in lieu of one expensive spool of braid. It certainly isn't as thin as quality braid, black gen hit the nail on the head there.... however it's thin enough to get pleanty of line on. I am using 80lb which is 0.48mm thick, thats not much thicker than 30lb mono which is typically what I'm spooled up with (only use the braid for shark fishing).
Horses for courses.... if I was entering a tournament I'd probably spend the $$$ to buy the good stuff, but for day to day this is good enough for me.

i have a few mates who have
i have a few mates who have also used the cheap shit off ebay.....your correct in saying that it doesnt break etc as it generally doesnt.
but it is usually 3-4 times as thick as a decent priced braid (thus fitting alot less on your reel) and as you said the colour does run.
most braids probly come out of the same factory anyway and at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference.
personally i prefer a better quality braid. good luck
