Hit the river with Lemax rods this summer

As the weather warms and river temperatures start to increase the bream, flatties and chopper tailor will all start firing up.

If you're into fishing the rivers, are getting organised for Christmas, or just for some new gear for 2012-13, here's an overview of some of the Lemax rods that you might want to have a look at in the lead up to this summer.

Pro Tiny

The Pro Tiny range of rods have incredibly thin blanks and are a great looking and well priced entry level graphite rod.  There are five sizes available between 4'6 and 6'6 suitable for lures up to 25g depending on whether you're using yaks around snags or landbased luring.

The rods have Lemax' SiC guides, cork butt and cork reel seat.

There are a couple of people on the forums who have these rods and love them, one member uses the 5'0 model for his light tackle fishing for pinkies and since buying his first has come back for three more so they've got a fair bit of rough-and-tumble built into them.

RRP for the models mentioned is between $80 and $105.

You can check out all the specs on the rods here.

Blue Mountain

The Blue Mountain is a great looking graphite rod at a reasonable price.  The four sizes between 5'0 and 6'6 are suitable for lures up to 25g.

The rods come with Lemax SiC guides, cork butt and graphite reel seat.

Blue Mountain rods are very durable and have got a load of grunt when needed.  A few guys over east who regularly use them in creeks and dams around Brisbane have been stoked with their fishability and their ability to handle knocks from snags in these sorts of waters.

RRP for the models mentioned is between $100 and $150.

You can check out all the specs on the rods here.

Black Rose

When you pick up a Black Rose rod you can feel the quality straight away.  The 5'0 and 5'6 rods, while officially rated to 17lb, are somewhat overstated and are perfect for people looking for smaller estuary rods.

The rods come with Fuji SiC guides and Fuji reel seat and have a cork butt.

There are a number of forum members who use the Black Rose rods and there is regularly good feedback on them.  The 8fter is one of the Lemax' best sellers.

RRP for the two models mentioned is between $150 and $165.

You can check out all the specs on the rods here.

Red Sword

Will fill this section in with a write-up of the Red Sword later tonight but for now you can check out all the specs on these rods here.

Please PM me if you've got any questions.

Hi Ben- had sent you a PM a fair while ago in regards to suggestions for a Branzino 3000 (plastics inshore 20lb) and if someone in Mandurah stocks Lemax rods? you never replied...

Any ideas? I like the Catalina nabura 67s to give you an idea.
