link
You can link them but its not a straightforward task.
The 1870f is a nmea2000 unit while the 585 is a nmea0183 unit.
I had this running on my boat with a 295 to the 1870f and had to use a 2k2 converter to change the 0183 signal to nmea 2000.
Isnt hard but does cost more money

Chsmith
Theres this one on CHsmith https://www.chsmith.com.au/Products/Furuno-GP1670-1870-IF-NMEA2K2-NMEA0183-NMEA2000-Bi-Directional-Converter.html
Google will be your friend to try find a cheaper version that will do the job.
I find it really havdy to have and would do it again on the next boat if it needed it
