Flathead in Geographe Bay - Busso, Landbased?

As title suggests I will be in Busso this weekend with the Mrs and young Toddler.
Mrs wants to do some easy fishing, just in the bay landbased. Minimal walking, climbing (no rocks, jetty).

Any flathead around near Abbey Beach Resort? Have two rods light enough to fish some small jigs / cast light rigs.
Was thinking a few 65/80mm wrigglers might do the trick?

Herring and whiting about there?

Any advice welcomed!

Cheers,
D80

would be to pack a raincoat or stick to the bar.

20-50mil forecast which could easily turn into more.

Heading down this arvo to Camp Grace along the holy mile for some glamping in the tent. I have been completely unsuccessful in talking the little bloke out of it. Looks like raincoats and wellie boots for puddle jumping... still I'm hopefull we'll get some herring for the boy..

Plenty of whitting if you walk the beach and sight cast . Not usually many flathead of size tho . Herring should be around dunsborough . Try the drains for bream if you like catvhing them

 Same with Lachie, we go

Same with Lachie, we go there atleast twice a year. At night we always head down to the beach, light rod 2-4kg with a bean sinker running to a swivel, then a short flurocarbon leader ( I like 30-40cm) then a long shank hook. Always plenty of whiting around, herring, tailor, tarwhine and the occasional squid and flathead. I normally cut the squid up at the appartment so you don't have to worry about doing it down the beach.

You'll see a few stingrays and banjo sharks come in real close so keep an eye out, also in summer at night time there are literally crabs everywhere. Where ever I flashed the torch a big blue manner popped up!

I'd probably use the 2.5 inch squidgy wrigglers in the black/gold for the flatties and just throw them out from the beach.

Enjoy yourself
