I havent hit the patches for 5-6 month so ill be patch hoppin through the 30-40m i guess.Plastics and drift bait if the drift slow.

Im heading out around ten am from woodies... Off to the 40's me thinks. Spent all day getting set to go. The boat has been laid up for twelve months....surprisingly after a good clean and a new set of plugs everything is still working. Picked up a new gas canister life jacket today, as I'm looking at a solo mission it's not coming off until I'm back at the ramp. Safety lanyard is also getting a workout. Tossing up with wearing small backpack with Epirb n flares in it. Any ideas gentlemen?
My wife understands why I clean my rods n reels in the shower....

Got out again today, did
Got out again today, did well, absolute glass off out from hillaries for the trip back in around 1130. Checked by fisheries at the ramp, first time checked in about two years, then checked two days in a row (yesterday at two rocks)
Good to see them out and about, they did the full look through the boat both times as well

Best metro day in a while
Was planning on going solo... Tried all the usual suspects for deckies with no luck. My wife ended up being " unwell " for work yesterday, awesome idea!.
left woodies about 10:30 out to the 40's back by three ,run home was on glass at a super comfy 28 kts, rare ..very rare
Kept one pinkie that went 660mm
Boated and successfully returned two Dhuies a scorpion fish , western red devil a big black bum ( should have kept him as we were on one licence and was hoping for an upgrade but never happened) and a decent sized reef shark that was about a metre. Fun times getting him on board to de hook him...ended up cutting line right at the hook. Also caught some funny looking orange thing with a mouth bigger than Mick Jagger's . Nice steady rate of catching too . There were some massive schools showing up on the sounder with Pinkie coming out of one of em. Note to self buy some Shore Catch burley for next time.
Fisheries ( nice young guy and girl ) did the once over at the ramp on the way back in no problems.
Forgot to install bungs.... Remembered just prior to boat launch off trailer.,had to pull her out and drain before installing bungs!! Amazing how fast a bilge and two kill tanks can fill through bung holes .... A first for me.. Never again
Best thing was having a day on the water with my wife who suggested we need a bigger boat. Yay !
