fishing e shed

hey guys.. not after exact locations!  but would anybody be Able to help with some tips

on how to fish from there? I've been a few times and haven't managed anything worth

while.. usually I just have some gang hooks and whole or 3/4 mulies with a number 1

sinker above it.. I'm kinda chasing something a little larger than the bait fish running

around at your toes.

thanks guys

It's pretty simple, catch the scaleys and chuck one out live and hope for the best. Plenty of  mullaway get caught there. A few tuna last year. Seen a Kingfish caught there when i was a kid.

okay cool. so the mulies won't really get me much there then?

would I need a 12ft rod for the live bait? I'm only using a 6-8ft rod..

might need to organise to hit up the tackle store for info on live baiting

and the tackle needed

I use a 7ft 10-15kg rod and a baitrunner style reel and 30lb line when i'm 'hoping'.  Head to Oceanside tackle mate they'll sort you with the right stuff. I'd recommend a penn live liner and theres a variety of rods that'll do the job.

Mulloway

Hi mate,

If your after something a little larger than a scalie than chasing Mulloway is on the cards. We get consistant reports coming from that area though dont be fooled into thinking its and easy fish to catch. Putting time into this species is key and no doubt you will eventually crack it.

In terms of outfit a 12ft rod is too long and bulky to effectively use in such a space. Feel free to swing past the shop here on South st and we can point you in the direction of an appropriate combo within your budget.
