Fishing Canarvon creek advice
Submitted by brg on Thu, 2018-12-20 12:12
Hi FW, can anyone point me in the right direction of fishing Canarvon river system? Will be travelling through there for a pit stop quite regularly. Not looking for secret spots just a general idea? Will have light spin and lures. Will be landbase just catch and releasing. Cheers

Pelican Point
Give the beach a try at Pelican point, Dwyers Leap on the high tide or the river mouth down past the 1 mile jetty, should get tailor, yellowfin whiting, yellowfin brim, mulloway at night if you can sneak out on the jetty

All locations in Carnarvon
All locations in Carnarvon are adversely affected by the wind this time of year. With the prevailing southerly you might try the Gascoyne river mouth but you would need a 4WD to access it easily. Dwyers leap is also good in a southerly. If the wind is offshore or light you might try Oyster creek or the old tip. Both can surprise with some nice fish. The queenies are usually around at this time of year. If you have time, patience and the right gear this is the season for quality fish off the stones at Quobba. Send quobbarockhopper a message and he'll fill you in with the detals.
