Suburban boy was a classic Aussie song. Thats what prompted me to look at this
Cricket and football are fun to play but I find them boring to watch. Maybe when i'm in a nursing home and can't do stuff all else I can sit and mumble at the screen like i'm an old expert.
For now though I would rather be fishing, surfing, diving, motorbikes, cleaning gear or sleeping.....
even if the SA players have been told to pull their bloody thick heads in and behave. There is a certain line which should not be crossed. For de Kock to be whispering obscenities regarding his wife, where no-one else could hear, and then denying it, was just cowardly. Now the crowd needs to be pulled in. For the younger ones among you, you may not be aware that feelings against Australia run deep in SA, particularly among the jaapies. They saw our siding with the anti-apartheid movement , when they were excluded from world sport, as a very deep betrayal. And they hate us.
haha Ranmar you are kidding right. sure there isa line. And i agree that they have gone too far with the personal stuff at the wives. It needs to stop but dont just point the finger at the saffas. your reason is ridiculous. it may have been relevant 30 yrs ago. How about just admitting Warner is just a typical mouth piece and it was he who prob ably went too far in the first place and the saffas are just givingit back. Typical Aussie response really , love to dish it out but cry like little girls when it comes back with interest and then make out they are innocent. give me a break please. Ranmar there are always 2 sides to the story. id love to know what was really said and how it started. we will never really k ow i guess. You can bet for sure though warner is in the thick of it. Maybe he will keep his gob shut now.
Are you talking about the hour of unrelenting sledging QdK got from Warner on and off the field, or the one terrible thing QdK said to Warner in the stairwell?
I'm not condoning what either of them said. Warner's a hot head and lets his emotions get the better of him unfortunately. The team is better off without him imho.
he grew up in Western Sydney, tough environment, you have to know how to hand it out, and how to take it. And he can. It must have been really over the line to make him lose his rag, and you are blaming HIM? The whole thing has made it bleedin' obvious that the feelings still run deep. . And I will say again that your beloved de Kok is a low, lying coward. The depth of feeling towards Australia was obvious when you get comments like de Koks sister coming out on twitter saying she will destroy Warner. You don't have to scatch too deep to have it come out. And I don't give a fuck about rugby, either--perhaps because I grew up with it.
If David Warner grew up in Western Sydney then my home in Bayswater is a suburb of Kalgoorlie. Born in Paddington and played cricket for Eastern Suburbs. The equivilent of that it playing for Claremont Nedlands.
Firstly, I didn't mention anything about rugby did I?
Secondly, I'm not a saffa.
Thirdly, I didn't lay full blame on Warner did I. I think I implied he is not squeaky clean in all of this. You are the one who was laying blame and pointing the finger. That's what I disagree with. Most would agree that Aus cricket has a long history of on field "stuff" Funnily it always seems to be between Aus and someone else. Yes I agree there is clearly a bit of feeling between the two camps, probably more to do with the cricketing history I would think.
I didn't read de koks sisters tweet but wonder whether it has anything to do with what may have been said to de kok himself by Warner. Did that ever occur to you or is it that poor wee Davey is just a victim?
Maybe that is why the responses have been so vitriolic.
I think you are being pretty one eyed about the whole thing actually but hey that's up to you.
I wonder if its all this bullying they have been receiving has forced them into the on field actions that came to light last night?
This has obviously become a discussion point at my cricket club, with quite a few of us having played with/against him in the past.
Having the oppertunity to play against him last year in a grade game and the general consensus amongst the team (including his player manager) suggests he was most likely coersed into it.
It's a shame the truth will probably never come out but I hope it doesn't damage his career, but I do get the feel that Smith and Warner can be quite intimidating, especially to a young bloke trying to earn their respect.
Yeah I agree 100%. People will still say that he’s old enough and big enough to have said no but when u got those two arrogant little pricks in your ear and who really have all the say and pull to who makes the team etc I can see how a young fella could get caught up. I feel sorry for him but glad they got caught. Don’t feel for Smith, Warner, leadership group at all. Throw the book at them and sack the coaches aswel. Need to earn some respect back. Smith and warner should get a long holiday. Seeing though this is a thread about David warner got to say he is up there with Bernard Tomic and nick Kyrgios for me. Can’t stand the bloke - cock head
Interested to hear if you or anyone at your cricket club has attempted to alter the condition of the ball before ? (Geniune question.... certainly not making assumptions)
I don't have a lot of mates that actually play cricket (we are all arm chair experts !) but one of the guys I was talking to a while ago - when faf got done with the lolly - said they were always doing dodgy stuff to the ball. But then again, at club cricket level I'm not sure the bowling quality would be good enough for ball tampering to really have an impact.
Example. I can tape up one side of a tennis ball and I still can't see anything that resembles swing haha
i read a report this morning that says Warner is at the heart of the tampering plan. He too is not playing now in the 4th test. The quicks are pissed off for being implicated so the team is unravalling. i feel for Bancroft because i recon he is just a bunny. Poor bastard no doubt bullied into his actions as the newbie in the squad.
All this puts into context the discussions above re the sledging tc doesnt it?
I'm just devo because I had a lot of time for Steve Smith, Warner is a pure F^%^&head. Pure arrogance has made these blokes lose the plot and made them forget just why they are playing for Australia.

The wicket is seaming all
The wicket is seaming all over the joint and that ball was an absolute peach and beat Warner playing a forward defensive stroke.

his mindset is all over the place. He would have been wanting to belt that ball but had to play a defensive shot late and thus got knocked over.

Well he has certainly kept his gob shut since Saturday
I wonder if the Sledging by De kock pushed him over the edge in the end, or he just didn't think how stupid the plan was? Probably the latter.

no one knows what was said
no one knows what was said to de kock except them 2,
why is he so touchy about his ms - apparently there is rumours of her and another bloke so was it a bit close for comfort
bloody hell the stuff get said in rugby union - and then u have a beer afterwards together laughing
so then they resort to cheating -discuss it as a "leadership" group including captain and vice-
surprisingly the youngest most inexperienced team member gets caught - tell me someone didnt have aword in his ear

Should be an interesting programme tonight as it is about the ball tampering incident.
