Crays

Hi all.  Reading a lot about crays. And lots of terminology on here I don't understand.

What is a "white" cray??  And when they're buried and stuff like that. I'm interested in getting pots, but it seems like there's heaps you need to know, and I haven't a clue where to start. Other than I have a boat and love crays.

Only recently was I able to work out what a SBT was and that's because I saw a pic!

Thanks everyone.  I'm learning sooooo much off this site. It's truly a wealth of knowledge.

check out the fisheries web

check out the fisheries web site, they have photos of tar spots, berried and setose crays, they are all on the female cray and are different cycles in there breeding patern. as for a "white cray"(whites) it is the colour of the cray as it molts and migrates from shallow water to deep water it is a pale pinkey orange as apposed to blood red. Whites like to hang out on ledges on sand edges and head out into the sand at night or on a swell, reds gennerally are caught on rockey weedy bottom, a fairly genneral idea, hope it helps a bit
