Blue Weed Whiting are long slender fish like true whiting but they are more closely related to wrasse. They have fused teeth and a single long dorsal fin whereas whiting have two dorsal fins. Males are bluish green with a black blotch at the rear of the dorsal fin. Females and juveniles have pale green backs with a distinctive blue anal blotch and turn brown after death. On both, dark blotches form cross bands on the sides and there is a distinctive blue blotch around the anus.
Blue Weed Whiting grow to 41cms.
They are not considered good eating.
Blue Weed Whiting are found from the Abrolhos Islands Western Australia, around the southern coast to Sydney NSW.
He said that it was toothy, weed whiting have mouths like kg's. Maybe just a mutant wrasse. It sort of looks like the fresh water pike the guys in the uk get hmmm.
Definately a Cigar Wrasse (also known as Sharp-nosed Wrasse). They come in a huge range of colours, but this is one of the more common colours in exxy/ningaloo. Bright yellow is common too. Don't think they are much good on the tooth.

Ramsey's
Ramsey's or Spotted Grubfish for me. Have a close look at the lower jaw and the fin layout, that's how my books show it for what it's worth..
