Ashburton River

Doing some work next to the Ashburton River at Mindaroo station for the next few months and may have a chance to go for a fish at some point. Was wondering if anyone had fished this area before and might be able to let me know what expect, my understandng is I may have to go for a bit of a drive for a chance at anything!

Thanks

Dunno about now but back in March/April we fished about a kay or two from the river mouth all the way to the beach and did quite well. Mostly on pre-rigged SP's. We picked up jacks, bream and an 1100mm Barra on a tsunami paddletail . Closer to the beach was mainly trevally and queenies. Some of them on the old gold twisty. I work at Wheatstone so most RDO's we head into town and either fish at Beadon creek on the rock groin or mostly at the four mile creek. We did pick up one 700mm Barra not long ago there on mullet. Good luck wherever you end up goin mate.
