anyone have an older style lowrance gps with external antenna model LGC-12W?
EDIT - thanks to mako for his offer but my GPS is a bit older and needs the LGC-12W aerial. Specifically it only has 4 pins on the antenna plug (recent ones have five).
i picked up a globalmap 2400 off this site which was working for my old man, but since stopped working and comes up with error message "GPS module not responding"
I think it has to do with dodgy external aerial / aerial connection.
My request is if anyone has an external LGC-12W GPS receiver may I come round and try plugging into it with unit to confirm that I need a new aerial.
If anyone else has any other suggestions/ tips open to them. I have done factory reset and that didn't help.
thanks!

hi mate
have you tried the inline fuse that is situated along the antenna cable (mine is in the console in the seafox) the same thing happened to mine and it was the inline fuse that had blown. cheers

cheers for that tip
i read something about that, unfortunately it has no fuse - cord is about 30cm long only. I figure if it had the fuse I may not have this problem.
thanks for the response.

cord length
hi mate, are you sure the cord is only 30cm? the power wire must go all the way to the battery i think this wire must have a fuse somewhere along it?? cheers

older model doesn't need antenna to be powered
therefore only one cord.

LGC12w
The LGC12w is still avail as new, they didnt have nmea2000 then so the antenna wont have seperate power. its either the antenna thats buggered 90% or even the display itself, if you want drop it into our shop and we can test it for you, depends if were flat out you may need to leave it with us for the day. hope this helps.
