any advantage?

hi guys just wondering if their is any advantage to having a land based game rod instead of just a stroker??? i am fairly new to this so any advice on rods tackle rigs etc would be great thanks guys:)

i take it you are fishing land based, then if so only the length is an advantage for keeping the line clear of rocks etc, but that length also means you lose leverage when fighting a fish so go as short as is possible for your chosen location . (the shorter the rod means more pressure on the fish and less pressure on your back) cheers
