Trailer reversing

I've been looking for ages in trailer movers etc, working out how to get my boat around a tight corner with the F250.

Impossible, and always needed to put the Landcruiser on it and even then a few goes to screw it around and flogs the grass.

Brain fart, fitted a tongue mount on the front.

Unbelievably easy, car wheels don't chew the grass, straight in first try , no backing up.

Im certain it's been done before, but I haven't seen it.

Went to scrap yard and got a brand new tow bar bracket and cut it up.

 Interesting, never

Interesting, never considered it for launching though the size of my rig makes that an unlikely proposition, at least retrieval
Worth noting though that all hypoid differentials are inherently weaker in reverse due to the offset hypoid pinion, so becareful of wheel spin on a slippery ramp!

 Thanks for the head's up

Thanks for the head's up Rob.

Usually no spin on the ramp I take it very slowly as there's a 90 turn I have to make at the top.

So basically the boat gets winched to the bottom of that ramp via winch house at the top of the ramp then I just drive the trailer up the boat, minimal winching.

Works a treat . I had 40mm each side between house and fence at the house we had when we got the boat . Made a bracket for the roobar offset to the side so I could hook the boat on and look straight down the side of house and boat to put her away . if my side was the right distance then the other side was good .
