Airmar Thru Hull transducers???

 Hi,

Ihave jsut got my new boat and with its current setup it has an airmar thru hull transducer. Has anyone used any of the Airmar Thru Hulls? I have a 2301 Seaswirl Striper W/A and am going to start by upgrading the current Standard Horizon sounder to a Lowrance HDS10 combo.Do I need to upgrade the transducer as it already has an Airmar Bronze thru hull X-Ducer 20-502-01? Has anyone seen one or used one of these and are they compatible with a Lowrance unit? Cheers.

Tried googling the Xducer but no luck. just a Boston Whaler forum that explained the installation. Anyone used a Bronze thru hull 600w or 1KW, the B117 or 164? They look like they would be alright. Can the one 1Kw transducer be hooked up to both a HDS10 and a Furuno 585? Cheers.

Pretty sure Lucky Tim did

Pretty sure Lucky Tim did something similar, ran the same 1kW tranny on his HDS10, then swapped it onto the Furuno FCV-585 instead. SOme sellers supply them with an adapter-pigtail to swap between brands.

Not much point putting it on a HDS10 if you have the Furuno already!

Buying the HDS 10 this week and then saving again for the Furuno 585. I saw a Connection box that can connect 2 sounders to the one transducer. Looks good in theory. That way I could lash out and get the 1KW tranny for the both, and just switch between them when required.

That part has come up

That part has come up before.

Great, but if you're going finally end up using it with the Furuno, just buy it with the Furuno cable end, and the appropriate to-lowrance pigtail.

Buying the box is simply slowing down how long it takes to get into a better sounder!

I was just using their link to the product that I was looking at as the Airmar website page relating to it was not working at the time.  Cheers for the heads up, ill look elsewhere before I buy. All Boat Business have got the HDS for a good price. Mite see if they have the Switchbox and what they think of it.
