Its just a bit a of a play
Its just a bit a of a play thing at the moment Spess to test if the concept works.
Its only made out of small gauge gal fencing wire and I expect it to get trashed after its first use, but it will bend back to shape. If successful I will use some stainless tig wire.
It would be quite simple to fit whatever size bean sinker you require under the squids but I plan on fishing this a little differently.
I have always fished with what I call a stinger out the back which like your driftbait is a set line further behind the boat while drifting. I use a heavy sinker and about 60cm have a take off of about 2 meters to the hooks. This gives me a big bait free swimming close to the bottom.
I plan to substitute the bait for this lure. If the drift is fast I will keep it out the back but if it is slow I will shorten the line to the hook and place it directly down and allow the rocking of the boat to work it.
Thats the plan anyway. If it works I will post up the pics.

Excellent Idea Noha
Just make sure your sinker is ona slightly lighter line class so if it gets snagged you don't lose all your hard work.
I love catching fish on stuff I have made myself.
Cheers

Patent
Might have to get yourself onto a patent if it works well! Could be a few dollars in it as a result of thinking outside the box. If plastic crabs and slabs of metal work, then why shouldn't a spinner??

that thing will work no
that thing will work no probs, just the octopus jigging around the bottom will entice them to take it, made a similar thing to that myself a while ago(minus the wire jigging for bonito) they went nuts.
