great fish! Bait or jig? What
great fish! Bait or jig? What sort of depth?
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Snot Bags
The snot that comes off them is a real pain but the eating quality far out weighs the mess they cause.
Good fish, well done

So true, I think I might ski the next one to try and get the slime off it.

Grows
Wouldn't make any difference. You can scrape and wipe all the snot off, put the fish on ice and pull it out 10 minutes later and its all back there.

Wet hessian sack
By placing the fish on a wet hessian sack when cleaning / filleting I find it slides around less than on a hard surface. I always carry a hessian sack with me now.
If someone has found an easy way of cutting through the rib cage bones though I'm all ears.

Ribs
First move is to cut through the throat and around the gills and through the bones holding the wings then cut down along the spine and through the lateral [pin] bones and go over top of the ribs, taking the wings with the fillet. Once the two fillets are off then remove the wings.
