just wondering if its normal for the tilt trim brackets to scrape against one another and making a screatching noise when lowering to wash down { does not happen all the time } ive contacted the sales yard they in turn sent to yamaha and yamaha says they wont do anything about it , its a 200 4 stroke and problem started within 9 months from new. oil leak started from 6 months of new and eventually after many months of complaining and countless emails they , fixed the problem.

Keep on their case
Send them an Email asking for the problem to be rectified under warren etc quote section of warranty guaranty what ever. When you get Email reply go straight into consumer protection with copies of correspondence. generally the problem with supplier is fixed quite quickly in my experience's.
The product has been sold with a deficiency full stop.

150 4 stroke
Mine is scraping on one side but doesn't make any noise, just the paint is scraping. Has done it since new (2007).

Same
my new 150 did it on occasions from new , reported it to yammy dealer but could not have it happen on every lift , ended up just putting up with it and some loss of paint on the side of the lift arm brackets , wasn't impressed but could not solve the issue
