Dom in the article is from my partners family and does literally live opposive the floodgates. Have fished there a few times with him now and had great success every time. There is some monster sized bream in there, bigger than any you'll catch in perth, and you can see them in the mornings too. He was cleaning up on mullet there on sunday morning.
There is certainly some big Bream in the Wonnerup Estuary system and the massive fish kill we had a few years ago confirms this . What sort of bait were you using Blair or were you using soft plastics. I always found the fish to be extremely selective on the type of bait they will bite on. Red blood worms from my compost heap proved the most successfull.

What side of the flood gates
What side of the flood gates was the fish kill? The tidal side or the other?

big ones
we went fishing about a week ago and we caught 6 bream near the bridge on the left of the floodgates the biggest was a good sized 35cm one
