wilbinga flies

Went to Wilbinga for bash on Thursday, & got eaten by flies. Little bastards draw blood & swarm around ya.
I tried Bushman, they got worse, I tried the other Stuff no better.
Has anyone got a solution to this please. It really was quite bad.

Stable flies
They are stable flies, and in one part of their life cycle, they are blood feeders. Don't have an answer for what keeps them away though......

myself and sherbs got eaten alive last friday , little bastard things were all over the place. i dont mind 10 or 20 of them , but when u cant see your legs u know u in trouble ! we tried aerogaurd , but that also seemed to make it worse (it got so bad that i locked myself in the 4 x with the a/c running for a few mins).the only way we had some relief was to stay in the water. I did a google search and there seems to be alot of "old wives remedies" mixing baby oil and detol - that might stop them,but u will look like a cooked lobster ...... the bushmans gel with 80% deet seemed to have the best reviews. After last week i would pay top $'s for some thing that works.

I ended up putting a long
I ended up putting a long sleeve shirt & long pants on, but in 30+ heat its a tad warm.
Still attacked my face & hands.

Probably stating the obvious.....
Those mesh hats work great to keep them off ur face. I have used them a few times in dunsborough. About $8 from army surplus. But they don't protect ur arms and legs.
