Where to buy the cheapest yet quality braid

Hi everyone, im wondering if anyone knows a good place for braid. I have about a 50 dollar budget and the best ive come across is at anaconda 2 80lb 300m spools for $62. Anyone know of any other good deals going and if anyone has tried the mojika tournament braid before? I need to spool 2 penn 850's with 80lb braid(sambo jigging)

value for money

You would be better of perhaps saving a few more pennys and buying something reputable from a reputable dealer as per the post above.

You will only be disappointed after a few outings and be back to square one.

coley pretty much nailed it

coley pretty much nailed it there, your not going to find quality in a very cheap braid, certainly where the old cheap and nasty comment comes into it, save your money and buy decent braid ONCE, otherwise you will be replacing your CHEAP braid in a very SHORT time

cheap chinese braid

Wed, 2009-12-23 10:56

It was $50 for 1200 meters..now that should tell you something already...but it cant be that bad could it.

It was nearly as thick as 80lb mono, the weave was loose so when tying knots the braid moves under load and cuts itself. Took about 20lbs to break a bimini and about 30lbs to break a uni knot..I wouldnt tie up my tomatos with it....

Its that bad i wouldnt even try to sell it onto anyone else so I binned it

Bad stuff won't hold a knot

Bad stuff won't hold a knot properly so you won't land any fish, thats quite a false enconomy wouldn't you say?

Sambos and jigging and cheap

Wed, 2009-12-23 12:38

Sambos and jigging and cheap braid......now theres a recipe for disaster!!! Nothing like a 30kg samson to test your knot strength.....the money you might save will be lost in jigs I reckon.

I have 50lb fireline on my tld. it's been there 4 of the 5 years i was in port hedland and never had a drama with it. Used the same reel a couple of weeks back and landed alot of very respectable sambos with it.

There's so many different braids around now i don't know where to start, don't hear that much about fireline any more.
