what fish is this

hi guys
sorry that i dont have a picture of a fish i didnt catch it i only saw it swimming infront of me at the rockwalls in the dawesville cut.
it was 1metre or more long roundish shape, dark dark blue or black scales and on the tip of its tail it had like a band of light blue.

I think Bones...
...got it in one. Everytime I go there I see duskies swimming past...they are becoming quite common in that neck of the woods!

If the scales:
Were clearly visible from above then I would agree with wopjrb - big diamond scale sea mullet, flaming near impossible to catch (although tiny hooks and minute pieces of bread can fool em) or fly fishing techniques with weed like fly patterns also work.

Use bakers dough to catch mullet.The fish in question definitely sounds like a dusky moron---sorry ,morwong

confirmed it was a dusky when went fishing 2day ansked a fellow fisho who said it was a dusky.
also saw another fish it was about 1.2-1.5m long grey skin, big spines and blubbery lips . seen in cut. sorry bout low detail of fish but i only got a quick look b4 if swam down 2 the bottom.
