These are the weapons of choice for tomorrow. Bit of trolling, jigging, and soft plastic action.
Stella 5000sw,
Tekota 800,
Ci4 stradic 1000.
They always laugh at me when i go so light, but i have pulled fish of the trip twice in a row. 64cm dhu, and 63cm dhu on the ultra light stuff.
So whats the lightest you guys go??

Jigging and plastics for
Jigging and plastics for dhu's I recon 20-30lb is light enough.. have caught a 8kg+ dhu on my 8lb bream gear once and it really had noooo backbone to fight the fish with... almost not enjoyable.. I like to give the fish a bit of curry and also have a little confidence I wont just get pinged off when going hard.
Depends what you're fishing for really... nothing is too light for casting to small tuna or salmon or something :)

10lb for inshore placcys on
10lb for inshore placcys on the 3 mile, 20lb for 80% of my demersal jigging. I only really go to 30lb when the jig weights exeed the capabilty of my pe2 outfit.Sure you occasionally get worked over but i much prefer fishing with light outfits as is so much more enjoyable.

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Don't usually go below 3kg
Don't usually go below 3kg for trolling in comps. Leave the 2 and 1 for casting or switch baiting specific fish.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

my 20lb plastic outfit
but still get shhmoked on that when anchored on 3 mile (prob bloody sambo'd)
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.
