What is the Stella 4000 comparison in Daiwa

Just looking at getting a Stella 4000 for barra fishing but just want to see what else is out there before I lay out so much hard earned cash. I have only heard great things about the stella and its ongoing performance. I havent heard too much about a Daiwa equivalent. Im sure that there are many out there that are Daiwa biased and Shimano biased. Im just looking for an awsome reel that will catch me fish after fish and remain trouble free. In laying out the money involved in the cost of a Stella you would expect minimal to no dramas. Any assistance is appreciated. The waters getting warmer by the day so they should be back on the chew soon.

Cheers.

hyper certate 4000pe no dramas after five years of abuse, also the branzino morethan 3000 all used in salt water for barras and skinnys and the odd black jew when bottom bashing the stella is a very nice reel too

Well i think the reason why i would go stella over the daiwa equivilant is

a. I have never heard a single complaint about them

b. If it does go wrong, Shimano are fantastic with their warranty and reel repair, much quicker than Daiwa.

Sure the Daiwa reels mentioned above are fantastic, but you really can't argue with the Stella's awesome reputation.

That Alan Hawk goes into a lot of detail and not biased either which is good. Well worth the read. Cheers for that Trav32. I have heard that the Shimano warranty is superior. Im thinking that the Stella 4000 FE might be the choice. Most reviews and first hand experience has leaned towards the Stella. Though the branzino morethan 3000 is a nice looking reel... Cheers for the info.

use the search function on this site and look up shimano warranty, a can of worms that has been opened many times.

I have quite a few Saltigas and can tell you they will not let you down, I have punished all of mine.  Never owned a Stella myself so wont comment on them

A 4000 daiwa is bigger than a 4000 shimano, the saltigas are overkill barra fishing if u ask me. The equivelant in a daiwa would be a 3000 exist or branzino. Can't go wrong with a Stella tho
