Sponsors
Could be related to not looking after the sponsors.

Went to the Cockburn store
Went to the Cockburn store and got a fridge. Their 20% off didn't match the cheapest prices elsewhere (did my research) but I asked him to let me know the best he could do and after a few minutes gave me a deal.
The killer was that after spending $1200, on the drive home, I remembered about the bloody $650 of vouchers in my wallet that I took specifically for the purchase....

Gave them a call this
Gave them a call this morning. Pros of dealing with the manager, he is helping me sort it out this evening.
As excited as I was getting to go and spend more 'free' money, feeding the small people was more important...apparently.

Buy your kids $650 worth of fish and feed them for a week. Buy $650 worth of fishing gear and....
Nah wouldn't wash with my Mrs either haha. I just wait until she gets home from the hairdresser and then head out to the tackle store as she's walking up the driveway.

Zoom nailed it
No advertising if not a sponsoring business
fair enough too imho, big boys should cough up to keep the site running if they want access to the people on here.

I agree in principle... And
I agree in principle... I support the site sponsor where ever possible. I’ve had to create a seperate kitty for Oceanside’s “too good to refuse” sales!
However, any member in the market for a fridge, gazebo, tent, camping chair etc could have benefited from tonight’s sale without harming any sponsors business.
Anyway... time to move on!

Yup
Yeh i have absolutely no love to support BCF, especially to the potential detriment of the guys that pay to keep this site running. It would be very easy to pack up n go the facebook route, but i dont like facebook n prefer to stay like this and support the smaller bricks n mortar guys who take a risk every day opening the doors hoping to make a living and do the same for this site to keep it running.
I appreciate that there was no allegiance in the post and it was just a general heads up to members of a sale going on, still dont like giving a huge conglomerate free kicks over the small locals that look after you guys with personalised service.
Cheers

Hear hear.......totally applaud your stance
I go out of my way to shop local and shop for fishing gear with site sponsors .....have learnt so much from Ryan and the little tips and tricks he has passed on ....that advice is worth every cent even though they might not be the cheapest.

Agree regarding advice
I have found in most cases the bit of fishwrecked discount we get at Oceanside puts the difference in the price charged by the larger shops to zero....they just dont hold some of the cheaper shit thats all.
Some less experianced people think the bigger shops are cheaper but there wrong and there missing the benefit and point in professional advice....compared to looking at shits loads of stock and then buying the wrong piece of gear that they need to replace once they do know what there doing.

Conversely if I find an incredible online deal on a product I've already researched (like the $140 marine battery I bought last year worth $260) I will go to BCF and screw them for a pricematch rather than the local guys.

Research is a must when dealing BCF Jamsey as their staff don't know their products too well. Geez, even guys who sell specialty items like Carbontex washers can provide poor advice so I've learned not to take that at face value now as well![](http://fishwrecked.com/sites/all/libraries/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif)
