fisheries office
just sent an email off myself
Sick and tired of people doing the wrong thing and wouldn't mind swinging them a fine when they are caught out. I spoke to some guys a few weeks ago at the North Mole and they said they caught 3 pink snapper about 25 - 30cm long.
They also mentioned they tasted great. I gave them a bit of stick but there were more of them than us and I didn't want it to end in a punch on. Catching people such as this would be great, then just baybe they might learn.

scano as VFLO you don't have the power to fine people only to educate them and help them understand the rules and regs.

VFLO dont have any powers. they are there to help and educate people. Most people tell them to mind there own business or worse!

One educates people in good fishing practises and helps with understanding rules YELLOW SHIRT
the other works to shut down areas, reduce fishing days and introduce ridiculous rules. RED SHIRT you chuck left over bait at them

ok then
yeah ok
just happy to offer my services where they can be used to help the fellow fisho's. If i can't fine people then I don't mind giving them a few choice words when I see them taking stupidly undersized fish. (I do that at the moment anyway)
pretty thick skinned and use to the boss going off all the time so no drama's there.

VFLO
Hi Bill
I am a VFLO now called Fisheries Volunteer. They have taken the Officer out of the Title. Our job is only to Educate. I have enjoyed the volunteer program. Most people you meet on a patrol are nice and are glad to see us out there.

Good onya Bill
Good to see. Educating the kids is one thing as they don;t know any different, educating the older generation is a much bigger challenge. Thick skin needed indeed.
Cheers
