Sounds more like a strong
Sounds more like a strong current than the wind. Perhaps a simple move up the beach a few hundred meters might do the trick or a change of location altogether. If all else fails you can fish in the lee of or from groynes, rockwalls or jettys or in the lee of reef.

Abz - use a grapnel sinker -
Abz - use a grapnel sinker - you wont get the bait washed up. It will stay in place.

agree with Blue Whaler
I was up at Club Capricorn on Saturday. Wind and current strong. I was using grapnel sinker and was holding OK. Everyone else was washing up,not holding, even crossing mine line on occassions. I was catching 2 fish to their one.
A little more expensive but well worth the money
