If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

also run 30lb on my stradic
also run 30lb on my stradic 4000 and has landed a couple sambos to 30kg+! Also a few nice dhuies and snapper. Dont expect it to last forever the way the sambos punish it tho! haha.. good for demersal jigging but.

6000 or 8000. I have both,
6000 or 8000. I have both, and use them both for landbased and jigging. Depends on what size line you're putting on it and what rod you'll be using. I got 50lb on the 8000 and 30-40lb on the 6000.

sol for me
Love the sol. Use a 2500 for plastics running pe2 20lb in depths up to 40m. Can't really say about the stradic. Caught many good fish on it & got smoked on a fair few aswell.
Have been doing some research into sol or stradic, sustain for a new demersal outfit & realistically it's a personal choice as i think both are good reels.
Probably go sol 4000 as plenty of line capacity & well built japanese reel. Just a bit heavier i think.

go stradic 4000/5000,
go stradic 4000/5000, personally id go for 5000, just for the extra line capacity and it will take more shit.

sol is definately a
sol is definately a better/stronger way to go. For dermersal jigging you would be best off going with the 4000 which is the newest in the range, it is also japan made. Japan made verse mayasian or taiwan made....i know what i would be sticking with. Sol holds more line also.

sol has the shaft and pin
sol has the shaft and pin thru the reel, shimano has the handle that screws into the internal parts.
I've got a 2500 sol and I've punished it but, over a time and heavy work the shaft can get a bit of play inside.

PE3 is line strength
It may vary between brands of braid but generally PE3 braid is around 40lb breaking strain. PE6 - 80lb.

PE is a guide to line
PE is a guide to line diameters. Its the cross-sectional area of the line.
PE3 is usually 30lb, but its up to, and past 40lb, in some pimp brands. A rough guide is 1 PE per 10lb.
