Spoolers

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has used these spooler tools before, and weather there any good or has a different type they can recomend, that would make it much easier , cheers rails

There are plenty on the market and they all work well, but you can never get a good a spool up as in the shop. Don't mean to knock anyones products or anything but if you were to wind 300m of line on a reel with tension its almost as bad as skull dragging a fish without using the rod. If you have to use those styles of spoolers, don't wind it on as tight as you can possibly go. Used to do it myself at home but after a few spool ups the cheaper reels get grindy pretty fast.

Don't waste your money on that one, I got one off eBay for $30 and it's crap, sorry cant recommend any good ones, but I'm using a piece of dowl and my toes again

Agree, have one and dont use it, its crap.
There are some that use a suction cup to stick it to a table and a theaded tensioner for the spool. They look ok but i just made one with some threaded rod, couple of washers and nuts with a spring.

Hahaha I stick a screwdriver in the lawn. Keeps enough tension to stop overwinds.
