Sounder Install

Anyone handy with marine electronics care to comment..
Just got a new lowrance live sounder and put the 3 in 1 tranny on it and now onto fitting the other cord.
There is two separate cable one is power red earth black and acc yellow.... can you just hooke the yellow and red up together to the fuse board?
Also the other cable is like 5 diffenert colour wired yelow , green brown etc books says nmea i assume I dont need to hook these up. But what arevthey for as there isba nmea plu in the back of the sounder.

Sent to me by Lowrance for my unit HDS 10 non touch
Not sure if the wiring is same for "live" I would check with Lowrance.

Still not sure why you need a yellow wire i.e. normally would like to watch the sounder with the motor off.

Just the red and the black is
Just the red and the black is needed, the yellow is a common link wire which when connected properly will allow you to switch on one unit and allow all other connected electronics turn on at the same time.
