Just been wondering , i have been using soft platics lately and lost a few sections of the plastic tail section, so if the fish have swallowed the plastic section is it going to get stuck in their gut and cause problems down the track , has this ever been researched if the plastic breaks down over a short period ??

When i used to have my pet
When i used to have my pet Barramudi in my fish tank i used to throw in soft plastic and hard body lures with the hook tips cut off or trebles take off, just to watch him attack it. Even did some experiments on hook shape/size and colour to determine how quick he would learn not to take a particular type or coloured lure. Most times it only took him 4 or 5 attacks on the same lure before he would never touch it again. Even a year on he would still not react to it.
A couple of times when using softies he ripped the plastic straight off the tipless hook. Didnt seem to cause him any grief as it would pass through his system and come out with his crap a few days later. This happened maybe 10 or so times.
Got him to 74cm before i euthanised him........ and ate him :)
