Well I ended up getting a grappler and used it for 2 weeks at shark bay. Gave up on the jigging as the mackies kept hammering them and cutting off the hooks. I started bait fishing it with a saragosa 4000 and running sinker rig and was very impressed, handled big pinkies easily and with the 4000 was well balanced and a pleasure to fish with for long periods.

Yeah I got one and have been very impressed by it.
Very light, stiff enough for poppers and plenty of power.
Used it for a week at the Monties and a week at Exmouth earlier this year.
