I'm not a shark guru but picked up a few sharks on sliding out big baits like tailor and blue mackerel. The other alternative is to cast out big fillet baits. Hope this helps.

cheers

Find some deep water and silde or throw big baits (tailor works best for me)and you will catch.

Sharks are one of the easiest fish to catch as long as you have the right gear and a bit of common sense.

Big Mullaway on the other hand takes alot more time and a bit of skill.

Good luck.

You need a long casting rod I'd suggest a 12 foot plus graphite rod with braid. Attach your leader to your braid with a knot and tie a sinker to your leader. Cast the sinker straight out into a hole or likely looking spot. Now what you want is a swivel with a snap on the end of it. Tie leader to this (or wire) and a live baiting hook. Attach your live bait to the hook and use the clip to clip on your rig to the line which is in the water.  Theoretically, the fish should be able to swim but only in the direction you want and as far as the leader allows. The only thing that goes wrong for me is when the fish doesn't swim very far out. I haven't done this with dead baits but I'm guessing you can.

Sliding with braid

Hey Trav,

Does your braid get tangled often sliding baits outs? And will running the clip swivel cause the braid to fray after awhile?

yes braid would fray and tangle etc...we use only mono - down to small ring - light mono - grapnel...
