Shark Bay report or advice??

Hey guys

A mate of mine is going to Shark Bay in a month and he has asked me to put a post on here to see if anyone had any reports or advice on where to fish and what to fish for? He has a 5.5 metre quintrex so can get out in the ocean a bit. Some tips would be great!! GPS points would be better but thats more than likely not hapenning!! hahahah

Cheers in advance

Your channel markers on the way out to turtle bay would be a good start. Or if a nice day head out the passage to steep point. There is good ground out far and close just a bit of scouting and it won't take long to find a good spot that produces fish.

We were up there in August. It was very hit and miss off Denham lots of small fish.......

like Rob said above, steam out to Steep Point or even better Turtle bay if weather permits.

NT Fishing Charters

Mon, 2013-09-16 10:39

Hi Guys ,

Just a short notice for people thinking of going on a charter with "Fishnwrecks"in Darwin. We booked a full day offshore trip (2) $530. On the day we were suppose to go out only 8 people were booked for the day,in my books just right. We boarded the vessel.aftersome discussion the skipper decided to cancel the outing.(It was the best weather day we had up in Darwin over the 5 day visit.)We could get our money back or book another day.Which we did.To our suprise on the day a total of 18 people came aboard($4770.!!!for the charter company). We traveled for more than one hour and half.In the next 3 hours of fishing all that was caught was a few small reef fish. But the TANGLES were out of this world..can u imagine 18 people fishing with the tide running out!!!Then at one thirty it was time to head home, which was two and half hour trip. Not worth going on these trips..what u see in the brochue is BIG fish...what u catch is very different. One person caught a 4 kilo Black Dhu!!!So shop around!!

Bibs when i was growing up we used to go to our house up there twice a year for school holidays and smash the pinkies

That's exactly what we did, Whiting heads never let us down and fresh squid caught from the jetty the night before

Squidding from the jetty is almost cheating. You see them swim towards the jetty and throw the jig past them and you're on
