The back step is extremely weak you wouldn't want to actually use it i think its only 1.6mm. The dinghy the guy showed me if you look at the underside where it meets the chine it was all bubbled up they didn't fare it in at all just forced it. I also saw somebody selling one on gumtree pretty cheap with brand new Suzuki motor saying only done 5 hrs. I decided to leave it alone o think second hand proven dinghy would be better value thats what i ended up with.

Im seeking advice on a small boat trip to the Montes. I have a few question from those of you who've done the trip.
1. What's the best time of the year weather wise?
2. What's the best anchorage to give you good access to a variety of locations worth looking at for a variety of fishing styles.
3. What sort of distances do you reckon you'd clock up getting to these spots. Fuel is a limiting factor as I don't want to carry extra fuel that makes the trip (over) dangerous.
We allow ourselves approx 90 nm's out of out tank, which gives us a bit of a safety margin. I'd think 4 x 60ltr drums would be the most I'd want on deck, bearing in mind other stuff on board.
Oh yeah, boat is a 21 foot rebuilt Penguin, self draining deck.
