How much is your budget?

How much is your budget? Aiming at graphite or would you mind fibreglass? What quality are you happy with?  Ossi Pk tackle store has Loomis & Franklin, one only 10'(if it's still there) & 2 12' when I looked in last week. Both lengths come with 2 different weight tips. Had a 20% sale then so will end up between $200 - $300. Not sure if sale still on. However, these rods are Taiwanese.  If you are prepared to wait, you can also buy good rods overseas & have them shipped to you instead of buying locally.

Don't forget the Starlo Stix

Don't forget the Starlo Stix 9ft Shore spin too. Sweet rod far that sort of thing. I found that it does suit heavier 40-65gm lures but will cast the lighter ones too, and there only $150.

the daiwa sea jiggers are a sick rod in around your budget as well the best out there for the price

it would suit the applause really well probaly the lightest model one would suit salmon fishing the best but the medium model would be more versatile.

i think affinity 4000 a lil small for a 10-12ft. Look at something around 8-9ft to suit that reel. Could go eupro twincraft or eupro penulum, rated 30lb and its good for popping as its got a stiff tip.

Bugger off with your little squid rods Chan (Lol)

Seriously, they would be good options, but it will really depend on where you are fishing westonk 1 and the conditions. If it is a beach situation with a bit of wave action, you will need a bit of height to get out over the waves and to control a big salmon in the inshore channels. If it is nice and flat and you don't have to lift a 6kg plus salmon too far, then the smaller rods will do fine.
