Rotto Tuna

Hi guys

Me and a mate recently bought a boat 21' glass boat.

With the demersal ban on we are pretty keen to catch some fish. Has anyone been doing alright off rotto trolling for tuna as of late? weather permitting we are planning on heading out next weekend (weather looks a bit off at this stage).

Not asking for peoples exact locations just a rough guide.

Cheers lads,

Alex

Yeah Birds are an obvious

Yeah Birds are an obvious one, but can't rely on them too much. Not planning on going home if I don't see any birds.

Don't have a witchdoctor or mirror teaser yet, will grab one over the next couple weeks after my bank account recovers a bit.

Planning on trolling around some rapala xwraps and halco laser pros... probably 3 or 4 in the spread

you will get SBT from just off the back of five fathom bank in 30m all the way out to the back of rotto just troll along looking for bait balls on your sounder ,you also get alot of good kgs around the 30/35m area so it dosnt hurt to just blind troll and see what you find

Chris - Will do mate, like

Chris - Will do mate, like wise to yourself.

All set up ready for a 430am start tomorrow.

Have all my gear ready to roll. The good weather today is making the wait almost unbearable.

Going to run a spread of 4 rods. Been umming an ahhing about what lures im going to go with. So far looks like a Yo-zuri Hydro Magnum (red head), Halco Trembler 110 (Mullet), Halco Laser pro 190DD (chrome pink) and a Rapala X-rap Magnum (bonito). Covers me from 1 - 9m and a good range of colours.

Probably have a flick with some twistys at a couple reefs i've been doing well on tailor at recently too.
