Rod to Match Catalina

Hey guys,

Im heading up to West Moore Island in a month and have got most of my gear sorted but want to find a casting rod to match my Catalina 4500

Currently have 50lb braid on it looking at a rod to throw poppers for gt's etc off a boat.  Already checked out a few rods but they seem a bit stiff was hoping to get something with a little bit of finesse in the tip to possibly work some plastics/lighter lures as well.

Any help greatly appreciated, Budget $200-$300

(also anyone been to west moore this year?)

Cheers

Have you had a look at the Catalina rods - would be on the top end of your budget but they are a nice rod and made to balance with the reel.  I have my 4500 on the pe4 model - its about 7ft and will work lures nicely probably a bit heavy for lighter soft plastic work but so will any rod made for 50lb line will be anyway.  Pretty hard to get a rod to cover throwing poppers at GT and also handle softies this would be about as close as you can get.

cheers
