In Real Need Of Some Advice Heading To Broome for Chrissy

Hi Guys,

Well on Friday next week the missus and I, with my sister and brother in law will be heading to Broome, from Karratha, to spend christmas with my my uncle and the rest of the family flying up from Perth.

I plan to tow my boat that I recently purchased, a 7m Assassin, up with me to really make the most of it as it will be the first time in years that we will be spending it all together.

What I need help with and was looking for advice on was where to go offshore with my brother in law, grandfather, uncle, and cousin. Im only an amature and would really appreciate some advice on good spots off Broome or tips and tactics on what to target up there this time of year. I Just recently brought a abit of gear to get out there amongst it off Karratha as im keen to learn

- 2x Finnor biscayne LD25's combos

- Halco Laser Pros 190's and 160's

- and a bunch of soft plastics

- plus Ive got my old gear nothing exciting

and im about to order

- Another 2x Finnor Combos (at $169 inc braid its a bargain)

- & a Finnor Offshore spin 9500 & jig stick to suit as I havent tried jigging but keen to start

Any and all advice would really be appreciated, as im hoping to make this chrissy one that the whole family will remember for a while.

Thanks Ryan

This time of the year the weather can be crap out the front,

You may get the oppertunity early morning and get back to the ramp by lunchtime. Generally most up here will fish in the bay and creeks. Across the channel is productive as is around the moorings east of the jetty also Blackledge for mulloway. Your biggest issue is launching and retreiving if the wind is up. Don't stuff around get the boat off and on as quick as possible and if the wind is up use the slipway behind the jetty to retreive it will be calm there but you need at least 4.0mtrs of water.

Hey mate, if you wanna do some really good reef fishing drop the anchor directly out from Gantheume Point, only probably 100-200mtrs from land. Caught some awesome fish there and it was probably the best reef fishing I have ever done (only in about 5 mtrs of water too).
