Submitted by Marto on Thu, 2014-01-23 15:37
Hi All. Not long joined and havent posted a topic yet but thought would whack a couple of pics up from yesterday arvo. 2 mates and I went to catch a couple of Marron and thought we might as well chuck the rods in considering we were early enough. Still didnt leave home until after 6 but had an hour of fun before got too dark, which resulted in a good feed of redfin. Couple of marron and a few beers and home by 9. Pity doesnt always happen like that.....

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Great work
The best pic I have seen on here for ages. You have a very good spot wherever it is.

Very good going.
You should get a trophy from fisheries, that many Reddies out of circulation is a great effort. Some very good sizes. What did you catch them on. We soft plastic jig them in the Warren and pass the fillets around to the retired neighbours. All the best with your next outing.

great work man - some tasty stuff. Bit of work ahead filleting that!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

They came out of the Collie
They came out of the Collie river. We usually do the best with minnows but we were using spinners and SP's. Didnt seem to matter which colour or type, they were in a frenzy. Have been there plenty of times and usually get your 20 or 30 but i am not sure what was going on to make them bite like they did. As for the beers, consumption did slow markedly for that hour or so.......
