A question for those who live down mandurah way

I went to catch some shrimps in the estuary for whiting bait and couldn't find any for love or money. After getting home and thinking about it for a while I could not remember the last time I saw shrimps in the estuary. At one time all you had to do was pass ofine meshed net through the weed that grows on the rocks and you would have all you needed for a whiting session.
Now phffft,nil,none zilch.
When was the last time you saw shrimps, not small prawns but actually the small white shrimps.

Thanks for that
Can you tell me if this experiance was recently, and where you over a sandy bottom or rocky or weed. Sorry for all the questions it's just that I have looked at a few places along the falcon (estuary side) and over various bottom types and as I have said I came up with zip. Which is quite supprising I then did some serious tripping down memory lane and I could not remember seeing any in the past 6 or so months.
Your info that confirms that they are still around is good news as they are great bait for sand whiting, I'l just have to go hunting further afield I guess.

I don’t do much dabbing but
I don’t do much dabbing but I haven’t seen any not like the ones I’ve seen in the swan. I’ve seen plenty of small prawns though.

Thanks for the info
Many thanks for your reply, I'm hoping that I don't have to travel out of the mandurah area.
