PRAWN RUN

More to the point, has there been any reports of prawns in the river?
When is the best time to go?
I havent been down to east freo yet.
Do I move or anchor and wait?
What moon phase is best?
PS: I know outgoing tide is the time to go.

I have boat.
I have Genny and spotlights.
Have long pole prawn net (Thanks Ryan)

Any tips/info please?

Prawns

I normally dive for my prawns in the Swan river. Quite social, few of us go Wednesday nights. Winter is best for more and bigger prawns, but cold nights are guaranteed. Some prawns we get are 20cms long. An average night is a kilo of prawns. If I was buying them, they would cost $30 due to the size. In summer, it is a late night (but warmer), smaller prawns and not so many of them. The magic depth seems to be 10-13 meters. You also need a strong underwater light (plus a back up light), a prawn net with a tennis ball in it, a compass and the usual dive gear.
