Hello I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on what the best time of year to fish Steep Point is ...I have been told Autum ...Spring...Winter.....Summer ....anyways it will be a long haul from down here to up there so anyone who fishes it regular and can give some advice on timing would be great ...I know its not a sure thing but a rough estimate of best time of year would be good to go thanks ...

We have always done the trip
We have always done the trip around August but the weather can be a lottery. We have had it glassy calm to so windy, tents were literally blown apart. Fishing is always good though.

Feb and April have been good
Feb and April have been good .. but going in jan this time and it's going to be crappy weather and no fish ! LOL
Any time you can get up there is a good time imo.
Give Paul the ranger a buzz to see when he has vacancies as we only got in due to a cancellation and people book way in advance.
Hope your trip is a hoot

Depends on if you have a
Depends on if you have a boat, or a fishing from the stone, are you planning on balooning, bottom bouncing or spinning ??
jump over to the steeppoint page and have a look at the forum over there, plenty of good info available....... if you've never been there before, do your research, Steep isn't really the place to go unprepared

boat
If your taking the boat ideally you will want light winds = winter
for landbased dec-march but it will be very hot and windy
