Just wondering everyone's thoughts on how much second hand 850's are selling for these days, I mean I'd love to get a couple hundred bucks for mine but are they really worth it?. Any thoughts on this? And I'm talking about the old school one's not the shite 850ssm's

They can be bought every so
They can be bought every so often, when they are placed on specials, for $100 new, retail.
The old USA made models go for "serious" money,
On feepay somewhere about 250 smackers seems to be the upper limit of what people are bidding for them.

I got two 850ss models
good workhorses and still going strong I can see myself handing them to the grandkids oneday...the price tags would be more nostalgic as there not made in usa anymore I suppose ...not sure of the build quality of the ssm however ones my mates have , seem to do the job at a very affordable price...

They have dropped in price
Impossible to get parts for these reels so for that reason they have seriously dropped in price over last couple of years. Two years ago you could get around $200 for them but these days you can get them on eBay in Micky mouse condition for around $120.
I also saw the one on here recently that was listed for $250 and the dude is very lucky if he found somone who was willing to pay that.
Jim Head who deals a lot in second hand tackle has some mint American made versions for around $130.
